When Soquel Creek Water District came to us with the problem of how to better inspire customers to conserve water; we thought about what motivates us. It’s our neighbors with the cool wine barrel water collection system, it’s the trippy-looking drought-tolerant grasses, it's your neighborhood gardener who specializes in xeriscaping, and the old guy down the street installing pressure reducing valves around his house. We launched a comprehensive campaign that clues everyone into these simple ways to make a huge difference in water usage.

In our previous email, we told you about our building a web site for Gardens to Hospitals, but we neglected to mention that we donate a portion of our work to them. Why? Well, because kids who are trying to heal from injuries and diseases REQUIRE the healthiest food possible. We’re moms and dads, so we really get this. Please join us in growing organic gardens for kids trying to heal in pediatric units.
THE SHAPE OF HEALTHY FOODAccording to the Organic Trade Association, more than 81% of us purchase organics. Farmers markets have grown 50% in the past 4 years. And, yet--- our educational and political systems provide miniscule support to the people who grow our healthiest food. R+F.H collaborated with Organic Farming Research Foundation in the first American Organic Farmer Insight Study. Our first hand conversations revealed how organic farmers feel about the current state of affairs and their prognosis for the future. We interviewed 17 organic farmers from every region in America and gained deep insight into their values, needs, lifestyles and perceptions of business, education and government.
THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME
Local California central coast veterans were promised a veterans cemetery would be built when the Fort Ord Army Base closed. That promise is still unfulfilled. We developed strategy, a website and a video to assist the capital campaign in securing final donations to make this long awaited promise a reality.
